About
To JESUS with Mary
Our Spiritual Journey In 2033 the Church will celebrate the 2,000th anniversary of the Resurrection of Jesus. This is being called the “Jubilee of Redemption” by Pope Leo XIV and many other Christian leaders. We want to prepare for this special time of grace for the Church and the world. We don’t have to wait until 2033 to cultivate a deep relationship with Jesus or to receive His abundance of grace! Spiritual growth usually happens gradually. . Our Catholic community desires to make a personal and communal commitment for spiritual growth during these seven years. Everyone is welcome to join us in this most important effort. In a capital campaign, many people give smaller amounts to achieve a common goal; so too, all of our prayers united together can bring about unimaginable graces for our families and community. Join us in praying for something great: That everyone in our community will grow closer to Jesus during this Spiritual Journey to 2033.
Why Our Lady of Sorrows Who better to help us teach how to grow closer to Jesus than the person who loves Him most! We chose to do this spiritual journey with Our Lady of Sorrows as we reflected on the beautiful way she herself prepared for the death and resurrection of her son. In these seven years, we will reflect on the seven sorrowful events that pierced Mary’s heart and prepare, with her help and example, for the world-wide celebration of our redemption.
The Origins of Our Lady of Sorrows Devotion Devotion to Our Lady of Sorrows dates as far back as the early Church. Through this devotion, we are invited to console the Sorrowful Heart of Mary and, in a beautiful way, unite our suffering to hers. Love for Our Lady of Sorrows grew after Mary appeared to several different saints throughout the years, primarily in the 13th and 14th centuries. Each time she appeared, she encouraged everyone to pray with sincere hearts, to recite the Rosary, and to spread devotion to her seven Sorrows and to the Rosary of the Seven Sorrows. “I look at all the human beings on earth to see whether maybe there are a few who feel compassion for me and who think of my sorrows.” ~ Our Lady to St. Bridget

Learn how to pray Night Prayer Click the button below to learn how to pray Night Prayer from the Liturgy of the Hours. We chose to encourage Night Prayer especially in 2026 as we put particular focus on the Prophecy of Simeon. Included in Night Prayer is what is called the canticle of Simeon, "Now let your servant go in peace; your word has been fulfilled: my own eyes have seen the salvation which you prepared in the sight of every people, a light to reveal you to the nations and the glory of your people Israel." O clemens, O pia, O dulcis Virgo Maria. In English "Hail, Holy Queen" Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
